Methodology

Kind of Data: Sample survey data [ssd]
Unit of Analysis: Households fleeing Ukraine: The assessment aimed to evaluate the profiles and urgent needs of these households as part of a regional exercise for the Ukraine Situation.
Sampling Procedure: The 2023 Multi-Sector Needs Assessment (MSNA) in Romania employed a probability-based, stratified sampling method. The sample was stratified by key variables, including geography and accommodation type (inside or outside collective sites). This method aimed to ensure diverse representation of Ukrainian refugee households across different regions in Romania. A total of 1,222 households were randomly selected within these strata, focusing on capturing the needs and priorities of refugees in urban and rural settings. Although the sample aimed for broad coverage, the results offer limited national representativeness.
