Methodology

This Common Operational Dataset on Population Statistics (COD-PS) is estimated using a combination of mathematical projection techniques (constant-share and weighted growth rate methods), using source data from the 2003 Haiti Census, the United States Census Bureau’s population projections for Haiti and a 2015 IHSI survey. Geospatial modeling techniques were subsequently applied to provide further context.
Caveats / Comments

These estimates were produced based on mathematical projection techniques taking into account historical population growth rates, and may not fully account for recent population dynamics, especially population mobility.
