What is Data Grid Completeness?
Data Grid Completeness defines a set of core data that are essential for preparedness and emergency response. For select countries, the HDX Team and trusted partners evaluate datasets available on HDX and add those meeting the definition of a core data category to the Data Grid Completeness board above. Please help us improve this feature by sending your feedback to hdx@un.org.

Conflict and disaster population movement (flows) data for Ukraine. The data is the most recent available and covers a 180 day time period. Internally displaced persons are defined according to the 1998 Guiding Principles as people or groups of people who have been forced or obliged to flee or to leave their homes or places of habitual residence, in particular as a result of armed conflict, or to avoid the effects of armed conflict, situations of generalized violence, violations of human rights, or natural or human-made disasters and who have not crossed an international border. The IDMC's Event data, sourced from the Internal Displacement Updates (IDU), offers initial assessments of internal displacements reported within the last 180 days. This dataset provides provisional information that is continually updated on a daily basis, reflecting the availability of data on new displacements arising from conflicts and disasters. The finalized, carefully curated, and validated estimates are then made accessible through the Global Internal Displacement Database (GIDD). The IDU dataset comprises preliminary estimates aggregated from various publishers or sources.

FTS publishes data on humanitarian funding flows as reported by donors and recipient organizations. It presents all humanitarian funding to a country and funding that is specifically reported or that can be specifically mapped against funding requirements stated in humanitarian response plans. The data comes from OCHA's Financial Tracking Service, is encoded as utf-8 and the second row of the CSV contains HXL tags.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). Data are collected through Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) and in-person surveys where the circumstances allow for field access. As the system is developed, the information collected and analyzed is being used to guide strategic decisions, to design programmes and to inform analytical processes such as the Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) and the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO). At the core of the system is a standardized household questionnaire administered to around 150,000 households per year across the 26 countries. Standardization permits comparisons across time and space, considerably enhancing the utility of the data for decision makers. At minimum the household data are representative at Admin 1 level (e.g. province, or region) and in frequent cases at Admin 2 level (e.g. district). Core funding for this initiative comes from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The initiative also benefits from support from the European Union and FAO’s Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation (SFERA). In each aggregated field, the values indicate the frequencies of the different responses, expressed as a weighted percentage of the total sample. The present datasets represents aggregated data referring to household interviews performed after December 2022. At every new survey data release, after cleaning and validation phases, aggregated data is appended to the present dataset. For real-time updates, for accessing archived data and for additional survey-specific information, please visit the DIEM Hub: https://data-in-emergencies.fao.org/ View the column descriptions here. A high-resolution asset exposure dataset produced using 'lit population' (LitPop), a globally consistent methodology to disaggregate asset value data proportional to a combination of nightlight intensity and geographical population data. Exposure data for population, asset values and productive capital at 4km spatial resolution globally, consistent across country borders. The dataset offers value for manifold use cases, including globally consistent economic disaster risk assessments and climate change adaptation studies, especially for larger regions, yet at considerably high resolution. The Climada Data API can be used to explore the full, original datasets.

In 2015, the World Health Organization established the Attacks on Health Care (AHC) initiative. This initiative is a priority of WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme. The vision of the initiative is that essential lifesaving health services must be provided to emergency-affected populations unhindered by any form of violence or obstruction. The Surveillance System for Attacks on Health Care (SSA) is one of the outputs of this initiative. The purpose of the WHO Surveillance System for Attacks on Health Care (SSA) is to systematically collect and make available data on attacks on health care, and their immediate impact on health care in countries facing emergencies. Definition of attack WHO defines an attack as any act of verbal or physical violence, threat of violence or other psychological violence, or obstruction that interferes with the availability, access and delivery of curative and/or preventive health services. Criteria for determining the level of certainty of an attack on health care Rumour Social media post (Twitter or Facebook) OR Hearsay OR Form submission from anonymous source Possible Media report from local or international news source OR Communication from an organization not defined in the partner group that an attack has been made against them Probable One eyewitness accounts of the attack as told to one or more SSA partner OR Two secondary accounts (not eyewitnesses) of the attack as told to one or more SSA partner(s) Confirmed Communication from an SSA partner that an attack has been made against them OR One eyewitness account by someone from the SSA partner group OR Two eyewitness accounts of the attack as told to one or more SSA partner(s) OR Types and sources of information that would be graded as ‘Probable’ PLUS-A photo, video or satellite image of the attack or its aftermath, or an international media or police report that provides clear evidence of the attack

The 2024 Common Operational Dataset on Population Statistics (COD-PS) update for Ukraine presents raion-level (ADM-2), oblast-level (ADM-1) and national-level (ADM-0) estimates of population size by sex and standard 5-year demographic age groups. The 2024 COD-PS update revises the 2023 COD-PS update and 2022 COD-PS update produced by UNFPA, by accounting for recent population change due to mobility, mortality and fertility dynamics. This COD-PS update was prepared by the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA. This update was prepared in consultation with the Humanitarian Country Team and UN Country Team in Ukraine, as well as national partners including the Institute for Demography and Quality of Life Problems, Ukraine and the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. The 2024 COD-PS update, like all COD-PS updates, is strictly a humanitarian data product of the United Nations aligned to the "best available humanitarian data standard". It does not represent or, in any way, replace official statistics or official population projections of the Government of Ukraine and it is not intended to meet the international standards of official statistics. The Ukraine Common Operational Dataset on Population Statistics (COD-PS) 2024 is a restricted dataset, in line with applicable national laws and the host country agreement with the United Nations. It is shared only with the Ukraine Humanitarian Country Team, UN Country Team in Ukraine, and the Government of Ukraine. Additional requests for access to this dataset and the accompanying documentation may be made to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the United Nations Population Fund via this link. Such requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
