Data collection and updating operations carried out under the DTM program show an increase in the number of displaced people in Mali between November and December 2019. The number of IDPs has increased from 201,429 people (CMP report by November 2019) to 207,751 in December 2019, an increase of 6,322 individuals. This increase is due to various types of violence in the regions of Mopti, Gao and Ménaka and the Mali-Burkina Faso border strip. Indeed, this violence has caused the displacement of populations from their villages and hamlets to find refuge in localities where the security situation seems calmer.
