This dataset is part of the data series [?]: IDMC - Internally displaced persons
Internally displaced persons are defined according to the 1998 Guiding Principles (http://www.internal-displacement.org/publications/1998/ocha-guiding-principles-on-internal-displacement) as people or groups of people who have been forced or obliged to flee or to leave their homes or places of habitual residence, in particular as a result of armed conflict, or to avoid the effects of armed conflict, situations of generalized violence, violations of human rights, or natural or human-made disasters and who have not crossed an international border. "Internally displaced persons - IDPs" refers to the number of people living in displacement as of the end of each year. "Internal displacements (New Displacements)" refers to the number of new cases or incidents of displacement recorded, rather than the number of people displaced. This is done because people may have been displaced more than once. Contains data from IDMC's Global Internal Displacement Database.

The Global Report on Food Crises (GRFC) provides an overview of the world’s food-crisis countries for which external humanitarian assistance is necessary. Data are available from 2016 to 2023 as in the latest GRFC edition. Data in the various GRFC editions refer more specifically to a subset of the world's identified food crises for which data was available and meeting the GRFC partnership consensus. The GRFC aims at responding to conflicting information derived from different sources and based on different methodologies that lack a consensus-based standard by providing information based on a rigorous methodology and a highly consultative process. https://www.fsinplatform.org/global-report-food-crises-grfc

On the 23rd of November 2021, the Federal Government of Somalia declared a state of emergency due to drought. Early 2023, after five consecutive failed rainy seasons, most of the country is experiencing severe drought conditions. Based on previous and current drought induced displacement patterns, people will continue to move from rural to urban areas in search of humanitarian services. In order to monitor drought related displacement, DTM has deployed its Emergency Trend Tracking tool since February 2022.

The CCCM cluster established a standardized complaints feedback mechanism (CFM) in August 2020 with the objective of uniformly capturing key complaint data which can be analyzed by humanitarian partners. This monthly snapshot highlights important IDP complaint-related trends and tendencies for locations where CCCM partners are active. Stakeholders can also access the cluster’s real-time CFM dashboard for further data analysis.

The updated master list of IDP sites contains estimated population data, GPS coordinates, names of neighborhoods/umbrellas (sub-district locations) and unique codes for each verified site. Additionally, the Q1-2023 master list includes IDP sites/populations for proposed catchment areas located in Baidoa and Mogadishu to better enable the formulation of an area-based approach to humanitarian service delivery. When possible, the CCCM Cluster urges partners to ensure that the names of IDP sites used by agencies are matching with that of the CCCM Cluster’s IDP Site Master List.
