The dataset contains information on natural disasters, such as floods and heavy rains, in Burundi.

Following the passage of tropical storm Ana across southern Malawi, the districts of Chikwawa, Mulanje, Nsanje and Phalombe have been severely hit by torrential and persistent rains, although there are reports of other districts also been affected by the onset, such as Mulanje, Chiradzulu and Neno. Situational overviews conducted by the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) reported a flooded area of 20Km2 in the districts of Balaka, Blantyre, Neno and Zomba, where 5,400 people are potentially exposed or living close to flooded areas. Also, the Malawian government agency of Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) reported several blocked roads in the Phalombe district, which negatively affects the daily lives of several households whom are relegated to camps and obstructing their access to essential services, such as health facilities.

Tropical Cyclone 1A became the first documented tropical cyclone to move through the Gulf of Aden. The tropical storm struck about 65 km (40 mi) west of Berbera District, Somalia and quickly dissipated. TC1A had a windspeed of 23m/s before dissipating. TC1A is the only tropical cyclone to develop in the North Indian Ocean during the Spring transition season. After developing in the western Arabian Sea, the cyclone turned to the west-southwest and transited through the Gulf of Aden rather than moving to the north or northwest along the climatologically favored track and making landfall along the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. The disturbance which eventually developed into TC1A was first detected on 23rd May,1984 as an area of strong convection centered approximately 180 nm (333 km) southeast of Socotra. This layer shows Districts hit by 1984 Tropical Cyclone 1A. This was a weak storm and no damages were reported.

In response to the need for timely and accurate information on the multi-hazard in Uganda, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Uganda implements the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM). Tropical Cyclone Idai made landfall in central Mozambique the night of 14 March 2019. Large-scale flooding and landslides have been triggered in several districts across Nepal following heavy rainfalls in July 2020. From the onset of monsoon on 12 June until 25 July, 130 people lost their lives, 115 were injured and 51 went missing due to floods and landslides according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
