This dataset contains information on Arria-formula meetings focusing on climate-related shocks and stressors. Arria-formula meetings are organized by the members of the Security Council as a flexible and informal forum for enhancing their deliberations as described in the note by the President of the Security Council (S/2017/507). Arria-formula meetings are included in this dataset based on an analysis of their titles and concept notes of meetings, as formulated and published by their organizers or through publicly available sources, including web and other recordings. The dataset covers the time period since the holding of the first meeting of the Council explicitly dedicated to Climate, Peace and Security under the sub-agenda item Energy, Security and Climate on 17 April 2007.

Data on vetoes are visualized by year, permanent members and top 15 topics. A detailed table featuring all individual vetoes with links to relevant records is also included. This dataset contains Gender and Women, Peace and Security (WPS) language in the Reports of the Secretary-General (SG) in peacekeeping contexts since 2020. Each row represents one paragraph that must contain at least one of the following keywords: woman/women, female(s), girl(s), sex/sexual, or gender. Paragraphs without this keywords were removed from the dataset. Each paragraph is reviewed and assigned into individual categories under two criteria: type of content, and thematic area. Which are displayed as columns of the dataset.

This dataset is part of a series of analysis on the integration of gender in the reports of the secretary general. It contains counts on different aspects of the integration of Gender and the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in the Reports of the Secretary-General (SG) in peacekeeping contexts since 2019. Each row represents one report. For this dataset, Gender and WPS integration is measured as the presence of gender-specific language and recommendations, the presence of standalone WPS sections and the use of gender-disaggregated data in the content of the reports. This dataset serves as a supplement to the primary dataset Expenditure for contingent owned equipment for peacekeeping missions and provides information on the factors influencing expenditures, percentage breakdowns, and key dates related to the financial data. Methodology: An artificial intelligence model was trained for extracting the table Expenditure for contingent owned equipment: major equipment and self sustainment and accompanying details from the Secretary-General’s performance reports. Subsequently, the output underwent simple random sampling for validation.

Contributions to the Trust Fund are to be made voluntarily and may be received from governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, private institutions or individuals, financial institutions, foundations and any other donor able to do so provided that such contributions as set forth are made in accordance with the United Nations Financial Regulations and Rules. Contributions may be accepted by the Department of Operational Support (DOS) as the implementing office. Contributions to the Trust Fund will be in the form of cash. Contributions in cash to the Trust Fund may be accepted in United States dollars or other fully convertible currencies. The making of a contribution and its acceptance are to be recorded in an exchange of letters, or, if deemed appropriate, in a more formal agreement. No contribution can be earmarked but will be pooled with other contributions in the trust fund solely for the overall support to the MSS as per Security Council mandate. The Department for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC) is responsible for enforcing United Nations (UN) policies on conduct in peacekeeping missions and special political missions. In this regard, DMSPC works closely with the Department for Peace Operations and the Department for Peacebuilding and Political Affairs. The conduct and discipline function for all field missions is overseen by the Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance. The Conduct and Discipline Service (CDS), which is part of the Administrative Law Division, provides overall direction for conduct and discipline issues, including on combating sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). This dataset contains information on the SEA allegations across the UN Peace Operations and the UN Special Political Missions since 2015. Each row represents one allegation.

CPAS stands for Comprehensive Planning and Performance Assessment System. It is a tool used in peacekeeping operations that aims to link the context of a country with peacekeeping planning, data, results, and reporting. CPAS enables peacekeeping mission leadership to make informed, evidence-based decisions to enhance the implementation of their mandates. It helps in rapidly de-escalating conflicts and improving the lives of people living in the countries where these missions operate. CPAS allows missions to assess their operating environment, set goals, and track progress using data and analysis. It is designed to improve the effectiveness of UN peacekeeping operations and contribute to global peace and security objectives by integrating planning and performance assessment across various mission components, including civilians, military, and police. This dataset contains the statistics of indicators and impact assessments per mission.

This dataset compiles information on the Community Violence Reduction (CVR) projects implemented by the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) from 2013 to 2023 in 6 of the 8 regions of Mali.
