Cyclone Chido Multip-Sectoral Initial Rapid Assessment(MIRA) analysis dataset of Cabo Delgado and Nampula, Mozambique. On December 15, 2024, Tropical Cyclone Chido made landfall in Mozambique, bringing torrential rainfall of up to 250 mm in 24 hours and winds reaching speeds of 120 km/h. The provinces of Cabo Delgado and Nampula have been identified as the hardest hit, experiencing significant rainfall and strong winds, with Niassa, Tete, and northern Manica also affected to a lesser extent. As of December 20, the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD) reported that 329,510 people had been affected by the cyclone, with numbers expected to rise as ongoing assessments provide more data. To assist INGD in estimating the extent and severity of needs, the humanitarian community in Cabo Delgado and Nampula is actively supporting the implementation of a Multi-Sectoral Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) in both provinces.

This dataset contains the overall people in need and intersectoral severity by disaggregation level which Includes administrative divisions and population groups, depending on each country's decision. The dataset is produced by the United Nations for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in collaboration with humanitarian partners using the Joint Intersectoral Analysis Framework(JIAF).
