This is a Children’s Climate and Disaster Risk model (CCRI-DRM) Kenya model created by UNICEF. The Kenyan CCRI-DRM subnational risk assessment initiative is a joint effort between UNICEF, Kenya national authorities and stakeholders, and international partners to enrich, create and use child-inclusive climate and disaster risk data. The initiative aims to improve the understanding and management of risks that children, young people, families and their communities face from natural hazards, climate and environmental hazards, shocks and stresses, and disasters. The approach and processes for subnational adaptations of the Index for Risk Management (INFORM) model provide the main reference for the development of the subnational CCRI-DRM. This analysis is composed of two main pillars that are indexed and combined into a final risk score: - Pillar 1: Exposure to Shocks & Stressors - Pillar 2: Child Vulnerability Reference layers have been added as incomplete but vital datasets that can improve contextual understanding of the lives of children where data is available. Please note that the number values of the shock exposure indicators included in the first pillar of the model are ESTIMATES of children under 18 exposed to the different types of shocks and stresses. These estimates are data derived from a combination of hazard and population layers and should not be treated as official or specific numbers. The Kenya CCRI-DRM model can also be found on the GeoSight dashboard, which is a geospatial platform intended to provide an easy-to-use and open-source cartographic visualization of the CCRI-DRM Kenya model created by UNICEF. The INFORM Risk Index is a global, open-source risk assessment for humanitarian crises and disasters. It can support decisions about prevention, preparedness and response.

The INFORM Severity Index summarises a wide range of already existing, quantitative information about crisis severity and presents it in a format that can be used more easily in decision-making.

INFORM Guatemala is a municipal risk index that identifies risks, threats, vulnerabilities and response capacities in the 340 municipalities of Guatemala. The municipal risk index simplifies information about crisis risk and is comprised of 29 indicators representing the three dimensions of risk: hazard and exposure, vulnerability, and lack of coping capacity. The results of the Guatemala INFORM index will be used by the National Coordination System for Disaster Risk Reduction (CONRED) for its analysis of risk of humanitarian crisis and disasters, municipal response capacities and potential humanitarian needs. Government institutions, civil society and international cooperation organizations can also use the results to focus the design and implementation of development programs and projects. The sub national INFORM model for Caucasus and Central Asia was initiated by the Regional Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Task Force for Caucasus and Central Asia and is managed by OCHA. The INFORM model is being used to support coordinated preparedness actions. Partners hope to use the model to improve cooperation between humanitarian and development actors in managing risk and building resilience across the region.

The INFOM Honduras tool has been implemented and will be updated by the Permanent Contingency Commission (COPECO). COPECO and other government institutions will jointly implement the INFORM initiative in the context of the National Risk Management System (SINAGER). The national Humanitarian Network, Civil Society Organizations, Academic institutions, and the Association of Municipalities of Honduras (AMHON) will also collaborate with the initiative.

INFORM Climate Change analyses how the risk of humanitarian crises will change as a result of climate change under different emission and population scenarios.

The regional INFORM Sahel model was initiated by Emergency Response and Preparedness Group of regional Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) and is managed by OCHA. The INFORM model is being used to support the Humanitarian Programme Cycle and coordinated preparedness actions. Partners hope to use the model to improve cooperation between humanitarian and development actors in managing risk and building resilience across the region.
