The INFORM Severity Index is a regularly updated, and easily interpreted model for measuring the severity of humanitarian crisis globally. It is a composite index, which brings together 31 core indicators, organised in three dimensions: impact, conditions of affected people, and complexity. All the indicators are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. These scores are then aggregated into components, the three dimensions (Impact, Conditions, Complexity), and the overall severity category based on the analytical framework. The three dimensions have been weighted according to their contribution to severity: impact of the crisis (20%); conditions of affected people (50%); complexity (30%). The weightings are currently a best estimate and will be refined using expert analysis and statistical methods. Each crisis will fall into 1 of 5 categories based on their score ranging from very low to high. ACAPS – an INFORM technical partner – is responsible for collection, cleaning, analysis and input of data into the model and the production of the final results. SABA Core dataset This Syria core dataset comprises 14 quantitative indicators based on publicly available information from humanitarian organisations. It is updated on a monthly basis, and it covers the whole country. This dataset brings together data from a range of sources to provide a greater overall and comparative understanding of the current situation and context inside each district. The core dataset indicators cover a range of categories including agriculture, commodity prices (food and fuel), conflict, displacement, exchange rate, food security, humanitarian access severity, health, people in need per sector, and rainfall. When analysing and interpreting the data, please be aware that while we aim to include district-level data that is updated monthly, some indicators are updated on only a quarterly or annual basis and some data is only available on admin 1 level. Please ensure you check the details in the ‘indicator list’ tab and the references for each indicator before conducting analysis. The Syria Area Based Analysis (SABA) team recommends that this dataset is used only as a starting point. It will enable you to quickly examine and compare cross-sectoral, quantitative data at the district level in Syria. However, for operational decision making, we recommend you consult ACAPS analysis products on Syria available here: https://www.acaps.org/en/countries/syria ACAPS conducts random quality checking of a sample of entries to try to limit errors. However, it is likely that errors remain. For sensitive analysis, we recommend you cross check findings with the source data in the list of indicators and at the top row of each column. Do you have ideas to make this data set more useful? Do you see mistakes or disagree with our opinions or assumptions? Contact us at info@acaps.org. Your feedback helps us do better.

This dataset brings together data from a range of sources to provide a greater overall and comparative understanding of the current situation and context inside each district. The core indicators consist of key drivers (conflict, basic commodity prices, exclusion and marginalization, and disrupted access to life-saving services and income sources) and their major expected humanitarian impacts (food insecurity, cholera).

ACAPS' Humanitarian Access Dataset puts together all the pieces of information on Humanitarian Access Constraints of the first half of 2021. The report resulting from this dataset is the Humanitarian Access Overview, which outlines how access to humanitarian assistance continues to be restricted for crisis-affected populations in more than 60 countries. Data from the dataset is coded according to access dimensions, indicators and sub-indicators, then scored on a 0 to 5 severity scale. The dataset displays: data collected, coded in "log" tab with its "data dictionary" aggregation of data by country, scored per "indicator" country scores (pillars, overall access score and information gaps) in "Scores" tab gis compatible clean tab with ISO codes According to this data, we identified the following: Extreme access constraints (Level 5) for: Eritrea, Libya, Syria, Yemen. Very high access constraints (Level 4) for: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Iraq, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria, Palestine, Somalia, South Sudan, Venezuela. High access constraints (Level 3) for: Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, Colombia, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Honduras, India, Iran, Lebanon, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Niger, Pakistan, Sudan, Turkey, Ukraine. The #COVID19 Government Measures Dataset puts together all the measures implemented by governments worldwide in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Data collection includes secondary data review. The researched information available falls into five categories: Social distancing Movement restrictions Public health measures Social and economic measures Lockdowns Each category is broken down into several types of measures. ACAPS consulted government, media, United Nations, and other organisations sources. For any comments, please contact us at info@acaps.org Please note note that some measures together with non-compliance policies may not be recorded and the exact date of implementation may not be accurate in some cases, due to the different way of reporting of the primary data sources we used.

The objective of the dataset is to provide information that enables decision makers to better direct their efforts in addressing the wider effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The dataset will track secondary impacts across a wide range of relevant themes: economy, health, migration, education to name a few. A set of around 80 impact indicators anticipated to be impacted by COVID-19 have been identified and organised across 4 pillars and 13 thematic blocks. Additionally, a set of around 25 pre-COVID-19 baseline indicators have been selected for each pillar. The data collection is conducted on a country-level and identifies the secondary impacts the COVID- 19 pandemic is having in more than 190 countries. Data comes from a range of available sources, including international organisations, research centres, and media analysis. Note: These are the preliminary results of the data collection on secondary impacts. This dataset is currently in the beta-testing phase, we will keep improving and updating in the coming weeks.
