The OCHA ROCCA office was closed in 2017. OCHA FIS continues to maintain the Common Operational Datasets (CODs). The rest of the data in no longer maintained.
The OCHA Regional Office for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Ukraine (ROCCA) was based in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
OCHA ROCCA improved levels of preparedness in the region through early warning and contingency planning, ensuring the inclusion of all relevant key partners. OCHA ROCCA made sure that Governments, civil society and international actors are well prepared, so that in the face of slow- or sudden-onset emergencies, the entire humanitarian community joins efforts to assist affected people.
In slow- or sudden-onset disasters or crises, OCHA ROCCA provided specialized support to country offices and partners within its areas of expertise, including surge teams, emergency response coordination, information management, advocacy and resource mobilization.
