What is Data Grid Completeness?
Data Grid Completeness defines a set of core data that are essential for preparedness and emergency response. For select countries, the HDX Team and trusted partners evaluate datasets available on HDX and add those meeting the definition of a core data category to the Data Grid Completeness board above. Please help us improve this feature by sending your feedback to hdx@un.org.

The WASH sector triangulates numerous reference datasets to arrive at a working baseline applied for analysis. Contained in this zip folder are CSV files containing DTM baselines, the WASH Sector Host Community Baseline (hcpop.csv), WASH Sector People in Need (PiN) Dataset (pin.csv), WASH Sector Sex and Age Data Disaggregation (SADD) computation (sadd.csv), and the Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States LGA list (rpm_name.csv; joiner.csv). Data contained in each file is at LGA level and a reference column is included in each file with the Admin2 P-Codes.

This is a geometrical shapefile of water point data for eleven (11) hot spot Local Government Areas and describes the water point location type (broadly IDP Camps or Host Communities). Data contains water source details such as nature of the water source, yield, operating hours, facility type, daily yield, and adequacy. The data was collected by UNICEF Data Focal Persons during a water point baseline assessment conducted in March 2019. Data contained in this file is at water point level.

Facebook has produced a model to help map global medium voltage (MV) grid infrastructure, i.e. the distribution lines which connect high-voltage transmission infrastructure to consumer-serving low-voltage distribution. The data found here are model outputs for six select African countries: Malawi, Nigeria, Uganda, DRC, Cote D’Ivoire, and Zambia. The grid maps are produced using a new methodology that employs various publicly-available datasets (night time satellite imagery, roads, political boundaries, etc) to predict the location of existing MV grid infrastructure. The model documentation and code are also available , so data scientists and planners globally can replicate the model to expand model coverage to other countries where this data is not already available. You can find the model code and documentation here: https://github.com/facebookresearch/many-to-many-dijkstra Note: current model accuracy is approximately 70% when compared to existing ground-truthed data. Accuracy can be further improved by integrating other locally-relevant information into the model and running it again. Resolution: geotiff is provided at Bing Tile Level 20

  • The Teacher Development Programme (TDP) is a six-year (2013-2019) programme funded by the UK Department for International Development. It seeks to improve the quality of teaching in primary schools, junior secondary schools, and colleges of education at the state level in northern Nigeria. It works through in-service training for primary teachers, reform of pre-service teacher education, and strengthening evidence-based research on teaching. Oxford Policy Management has conducted an independent impact evaluation of TDP. This evaluation focuses on the first of these three outputs: in-service training and support for primary teachers in the three core curriculum subjects of English, mathematics, and science. The programme initially operated in three states, Jigawa, Katsina, and Zamfara, and was later extended to Kaduna and Kano. This survey covers a group of schools that were randomly assigned to receive the TDP intervention in Jigawa, Katsina, and Zamfara, and a control group of schools in the same states that did not receive the TDP intervention. The impact evaluation is a theory-based, mixed-methods design. At the core is a constrained randomised design, with half of the sample schools assigned to receive the TDP intervention, while the other half was assigned to the control group. The main source of quantitative data is the sample panel survey of 330 schools in Jigawa, Katsina, and Zamfara conducted in 2014 and 2017. At each sample school, the head teacher and a sample of teachers and pupils were interviewed and tested on their subject knowledge in English, mathematics, and science; lesson observations were conducted; a teacher roster was compiled; and classroom attendance by teachers and pupils was measured. The data from the endline survey are from the TDP IE quantitative endline survey conducted in 2017. For the qualitative research findings and methods see the final endline report provided below.

The Nigeria Teacher Development Programme (TDP) In-Service Training Component Impact Evaluation 2014 is a DFID-funded programme, managed by a consortium led by Mott Macdonald. Its aim is to increase the effectiveness of teachers and thus raise primary and junior secondary school (JSS) pupil learning levels, through support to the Federal and State institutions responsible for pre- and in-service training and development of basic education teachers. The programme has the following three components: In-service teacher training in the three core curriculum subjects of English, maths, and science & technology (S&T) for primary and JSS teachers; Pre-service teacher training; and Results & evidence-based research.

These data summarize the latest available WorldPop gridded population datasets into the administrative units of the common operational dataset (COD). Note that these data should not be considered the COD datasets for population unless endorsed by the humanitarian community in country, but rather as a starting point if no COD dataset is available, or as a point of comparison with other population datasets. These data are provided as a prototype and feedback is welcome at hdx.feedback@gmail.com
