Data Grid Completeness defines
a set of core data that are essential for preparedness and emergency response.
For select countries, the HDX Team and trusted partners evaluate datasets available on HDX and add those meeting the definition of a core data category to the Data Grid Completeness board above. Please help us improve this feature by sending your feedback to
hdx@un.org.

This is a geometrical shapefile of water point data for eleven (11) hot spot Local Government Areas and describes the water point location type (broadly IDP Camps or Host Communities). Data contains water source details such as nature of the water source, yield, operating hours, facility type, daily yield, and adequacy. The data was collected by UNICEF Data Focal Persons during a water point baseline assessment conducted in March 2019. Data contained in this file is at water point level.
Facebook has produced a model to help map global medium voltage (MV) grid infrastructure, i.e. the distribution lines which connect high-voltage transmission infrastructure to consumer-serving low-voltage distribution. The data found here are model outputs for six select African countries: Malawi, Nigeria, Uganda, DRC, Cote D’Ivoire, and Zambia. The grid maps are produced using a new methodology that employs various publicly-available datasets (night time satellite imagery, roads, political boundaries, etc) to predict the location of existing MV grid infrastructure. The model documentation and code are also available , so data scientists and planners globally can replicate the model to expand model coverage to other countries where this data is not already available. You can find the model code and documentation here: https://github.com/facebookresearch/many-to-many-dijkstra
Note: current model accuracy is approximately 70% when compared to existing ground-truthed data. Accuracy can be further improved by integrating other locally-relevant information into the model and running it again.

The AFDB Statistical Data Portal has been developed in response to the increasing demand for statistical data and indicators relating to African Countries. The Portal provides multiple customized tools to gather indicators, analyze them, and export them into multiple formats.
With the Data Portal, you can visualize Socio-Economic indicators over a period of time, gain access to presentation-ready graphics and perform comprehensive analysis on a Country and Regional level
This data has been produced by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) on behalf of the Humanitarian Country Team and partners. The data provides the Humanitarian Country Team’s shared understanding of the crisis, including the most pressing humanitarian need and the estimated number of people who need assistance. It represents a consolidated evidence base and helps inform joint strategic response planning
This dataset contains agency- and publicly-reported data on sexual violence and abuse against aid workers between January 2015 and December 2017.

WorldPop produces different types of gridded population count datasets, depending on the methods used and end application.
Please make sure you have read our Mapping Populations overview page before choosing and downloading a dataset.
A description of the modelling methods used for age and sex structures can be found in
Tatem et al and
Pezzulo et al. Details of the input population count datasets used can be found here, and age/sex structure proportion datasets here.
Both top-down 'unconstrained' and 'constrained' versions of the datasets are available, and the differences between the two methods are outlined
here. The datasets represent the outputs from a project focused on construction of consistent 100m resolution population count datasets for all countries of the World structured by male/female and 5-year age classes (plus a <1 year class). These efforts necessarily involved some shortcuts for consistency. The unconstrained datasets are available for each year from 2000 to 2020.
The constrained datasets are only available for 2020 at present, given the time periods represented by the building footprint and built settlement datasets used in the mapping.
Data for earlier dates is available directly from WorldPop.
WorldPop (www.worldpop.org - School of Geography and Environmental Science, University of Southampton; Department of Geography and Geosciences, University of Louisville; Departement de Geographie, Universite de Namur) and Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), Columbia University (2018). Global High Resolution Population Denominators Project - Funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (OPP1134076). https://dx.doi.org/10.5258/SOTON/WP00646
These data summarize the latest available WorldPop gridded population datasets into the administrative units of the common operational dataset (COD). Note that these data should not be considered the COD datasets for population unless endorsed by the humanitarian community in country, but rather as a starting point if no COD dataset is available, or as a point of comparison with other population datasets. These data are provided as a prototype and feedback is welcome at hdx.feedback@gmail.com
