    Through the inception meeting done at district level with stakeholders from the Ministry of Local Government, Housing and Public works, Ministry of Public Service and Social welfare, Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement, Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, wards to be assessed were identified The baseline assessments were then conducted in the prioritized wards through focus group discussions with the ward key informants who included ward councillors, ward secretaries, village heads, extension workers, VHWs and representatives of the vulnerable groups.

    Data collection enumerators recruited at district level, were trained on the administration of baseline questionnaire with data collection done through mobile devices Key informant mobilization was done through and in coordination with the office of the District Civil Protection Committee.

    Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Baseline (Round 7) was carried out between 26 April and 13 May 2021, with the support of 65 enumerators covering a total of 185 wards in 12 districts in Manicaland and Masvingo provinces. This report presents descriptive analysis district profiles and summary statistics, including an analysis of sector-wide needs, such as shelter, health, non-food items, water, sanitation and education. A total of 247,068 individuals are still affected by recurrent natural disasters and within those, 41,535 are IDPs (58% female, 42% male) An estimated 11,502 homes are completely destroyed, while 37,134 homes are partially destroyed. In total, 9,233 households are reported to be in need of emergency shelter support, with 3,619 households having received emergency shelter support. One hundred and thirty five of the 185 wards assessed across the 12 districts were hosting IDPs. Furthermore, 10 wards in 4 districts recorded a total of 164 foreigners from Mozambique who were living there as a result of the cyclones. All of the wards assessed have damaged infrastructures, ranging from schools, health facilities, public buildings, bridges, boreholes, dip tanks and water springs.

    The round 6 of the baseline assessments was conducted by the DTM team which comprised of 59 enumerators between 24 February and 5 March 2021. A total of 85 wards in 3 districts were assessed in Manicaland province. The objective of the baseline assessment is to gather quantitative information on the current status of the population that was affected by cyclones Idai and Eloise as well as tropical storm Chalane. A total of 152,403 individuals are still affected by the cylones and storm. An estimated 8,549 homes are completely destroyed, while 27,410 homes are partially destroyed. In total, 9,035 households are reported to be in need of shelter support, with 3,595 households having received emergency shelter support since the Cyclone Idai made its landfall in Zimbabwe up to the time of the assessments. During Round 6, 40,842 IDPs (58% female, 42% male) were recorded during the data collection. All 85 wards assessed across the three districts were hosting IDPs. In addition, 4,859 individuals returned to their homes of origin (some returnees are still IDPs, this is because they may have returned to their original homes but they are still in need of shelter support as their homes may not have been repaired). Furthermore, 3 wards in 2 districts recorded a total of 109 foreigners from Mozambique.

    The round 5 of the baseline assessments was conducted by the DTM team which comprised of 66 enumerators between 27 October and 11 November. A total of 210 wards were assessed in 2 provinces. During Round 5, 19,412 IDPs (61% female, 39% male) were recorded during the data collection. Out of 210 wards assessed across the two provinces, 142 wards were hosting IDPs. In addition, 17,268 individuals returned to their homes of origin. Furthermore, 5 wards in 3 districts recorded a total of 56 foreigners from Mozambique.

    From the 29th of June to the 13th of July 2020, IOM DTM carried out a baseline assessment in 12 districts affected by Cyclone Idai in Manicaland and Masvingo provinces to monitor and track the locations and priority needs of the affected populations. A total of 60 enumerators were engaged and carried out assessments in 269 of the targeted 272 wards.

    During the month of November and December 2019, IOM DTM carried you a baseline assessment in 12 districts affected by Cyclone Idai in Manicaland and Masvingo provinces to monitor and track the locations and priority needs of the affected populations. A total of 114 enumerators (61 female and 53 male) were engaged and carried out assessments in 336 wards.

    Overall, there is still 43,352 individuals displaced due to cyclone Idai located in 1,571 locations, with the majority living in host communities within the two provinces. An estimated 10,097 homes were completely destroyed, while 37,483 homes were partially destroyed. In total 24,106 households are said to be still in need of shelter support, with only 3,047 having received emergency shelter support since the cyclone made its landfall in Zimbabwe.

    Baseline assessments were done at ward level covering through focus group discussions with key informants at the ward centres in coordination with the Department of Civil Protection. Enumerators were identified at district level and trained to carry out data collection.
