Methodology

Data were collected from the UNDP 2005 Population Report, the Population Estimation Survey of Somalia from the Somalia Directorate of National Statistics, the Early Warning Disease Surveillance and Response Bulletin, the First Malaria Indicator Survey in Somalia, the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project, Mobility of the Somali People from the Somalia Directorate of National Statistics, the People in Need Data: Humanitarian Needs Overview Somalia from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, and the Somalia Joint Multi Cluster Needs Assessment. Census Bureau staff altered boundaries and modified the statistical data as detailed in the Metadata tab of the tabular data.
