Georgia - Subnational Population Statistics

REFERENCE YEAR: 2019

This dataset contains population estimates for Georgia as of 1 January 2019 at country-level, including a breakdown by sex, age groups and urban and rural areas. It also contains population statistics from the 2014 census at first administrative level (mkhare/regions, Tbilisi independent city and autonomous republics), second administrative level (municipalities and independent cities), third administrative level (communities, boroughs, cities and villages) and for all populated places in the country.

All population numbers are disaggregated by sex. The population numbers are also disaggregated by age, except for the population numbers for the districts in Tbilisi (admin2), the population numbers at admin3 and the population numbers of the populated places.

Please note that these datasets do not include population numbers for the Georgian breakeaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The files each include a sheet with metadata.

The administrative level 0, 1, and 2 tables are suitable for database or GIS linkage to the Georgia administrative level 0-2 boundaries.
