Contributions to the Trust Fund are to be made voluntarily and may be received from governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, private institutions or individuals, financial institutions, foundations and any other donor able to do so provided that such contributions as set forth are made in accordance with the United Nations Financial Regulations and Rules. Contributions may be accepted by the Department of Operational Support (DOS) as the implementing office. Contributions to the Trust Fund will be in the form of cash. Contributions in cash to the Trust Fund may be accepted in United States dollars or other fully convertible currencies. The making of a contribution and its acceptance are to be recorded in an exchange of letters, or, if deemed appropriate, in a more formal agreement. No contribution can be earmarked but will be pooled with other contributions in the trust fund solely for the overall support to the MSS as per Security Council mandate. For more information on making a contribution to the Trust Fund in Support of the MSS to Haiti, please contact the Division for Special Activities, in the Department of Operational Support (dos-dsa-od@un.org).

The INFORM Severity Index is a regularly updated, and easily interpreted model for measuring the severity of humanitarian crisis globally. It is a composite index, which brings together 31 core indicators, organised in three dimensions: impact, conditions of affected people, and complexity. All the indicators are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. These scores are then aggregated into components, the three dimensions (Impact, Conditions, Complexity), and the overall severity category based on the analytical framework. The three dimensions have been weighted according to their contribution to severity: impact of the crisis (20%); conditions of affected people (50%); complexity (30%). The weightings are currently a best estimate and will be refined using expert analysis and statistical methods. Each crisis will fall into 1 of 5 categories based on their score ranging from very low to high. ACAPS – an INFORM technical partner – is responsible for collection, cleaning, analysis and input of data into the model and the production of the final results. The dataset provides an overview of all vetoes cast by the five permanent members of the Security Council since 1946 in accordance with Article 27 (3) of the United Nations Charter. Data on vetoes are visualized by year, permanent members and top 15 topics. A detailed table featuring all individual vetoes with links to relevant records is also included. The dataset is updated on a rolling basis. Data includes vetoes on draft resolutions, parts of outcome documents (amendments and individual paragraphs) as well as decisions on whether or not a vote can be considered to be procedural. Topics are based on agenda items and are simplified for information purposes only, without prejudice to the formal items of which the Security Council is/was seized.

In 2025, the UN and partner organizations are appealing for over $47 billion to assist 190 million people. This Global Humanitarian Overview 20225 is launched on behalf of more than 1,500 humanitarian partners. It covers 73 countries through 24 country plans, 9 flash appeals and 9 regional plans. The Global Humanitarian Overview 2025 is being launched at a time when entrenched, violent conflicts and the climate crisis are taking a tremendous toll on lives and livelihoods. In 2024: • One in five children worldwide lives in or has fled from conflict zones. • Four out of five civilian casualties in conflicts worldwide occurred in a countries with a humanitarian plan or appeal. • 2024 will be the hottest year on record, with global temperatures perilously close to 1.5ºC warming. Crises are lasting longer, with grim prospects for people impacted. The average duration of a humanitarian appeal/plan is now 10 years. In these settings: • The maternal mortality rate is nearly double the global average. • Vaccinations reach just 64 per cent of children, compared to 84 per cent globally. • Primary school completion rates are just 10 per cent, compared with 90 per cent globally. Two things are urgently needed for humanitarians to effectively deliver in 2025: respect for international humanitarian law and accountability for violations, and a fully funded appeal. The Global Humanitarian Overview is a comprehensive assessment of global humanitarian needs, and it provides a snapshot of current and future trends in humanitarian action for large-scale resource mobilization. Paragraphs without this keywords were removed from the dataset. Each paragraph is reviewed and assigned into individual categories under two criteria: type of content, and thematic area. Which are displayed as columns of the dataset.
