  • This map illustrates satellite-detected, potentially damaged structures in the town of Tlaquiltenango, Tlaquiltenango Municipality, Morelos State, Mexico. The analyzed area is located approximately 72 km west of the main shock epicenter of the 19 September 2017 M7.1 earthquake. UNITAR-UNOSAT identified 1,216 potentially affected structures within the town boundary. The analysis was performed using a post-event Pleiades satellite image acquired on 05 October 2017 and Bing as pre-event image. The analyzed area is located approximately 90 km north of the epicentral zone of the 19 September 2017 M7.1 earthquake. the Institute of Geography of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (IGG-UNAM) identified 336 potentially damaged structures from which 256 are within Historical Center. The analysis was performed using a post-event WorldView-3 satellite image acquired on 23 September 2017 and a pre-event WorldView-2 satellite image acquired on 28 July 2017.   • This map illustrates satellite-detected, potentially damaged structures in the southwestern part of Cuauhtemoc Municipality, Federal District, Mexico. The analyzed area is located approximately 120 km northwest of the main shock epicenter of the 19 September 2017 M7.1 earthquake. The analysis was performed using a post-event WorldView-2 satellite image acquired on 26 September 2017 and a pre-event Bing basemap. UNITAR-UNOSAT identified 145 potentially damaged structures from which 25 are located in Roma Norte suburb, 24 in Roma Sur, 21 in Hipodromo and 20 in La Condesa. The analysis was performed using a post-event WorldView-3 satellite image acquired on 22 September 2017 and a pre-event WorldView-2 satellite image acquired on 17 January 2017.   • This map illustrates satellite-detected, potentially damaged structures in the central western part of the city of Cuernavaca and more specifically in the neighborhoods of Downtown, La Mina 2 and Altavista, Cuernavaca Municipality, Morelos State, Mexico. UNITAR-UNOSAT detected a general moderate damage with a few collapsed structures and identified 1,494 potentially affected structures. The analysis was performed using a post-event WorldView-3 satellite image acquired on 22 September 2017 and a pre-event WorldView-2 satellite image acquired on 13 February 2017.   • This map illustrates satellite-detected, potentially damaged structures in the town of Atzala, Atzala Municipality, Puebla State, Mexico. The analysed area is located approximately 7 km west of the mainshock epicentre of the 19 September M 7.1 earthquake. UNITAR-UNOSAT identified 91 potentially damaged structures of which 78 are within the town extent. Taking in account the total 559 pre-event structures in Atzala town, 14% of the structures are likely to be damaged. These analyses was performed using a post-event Pleiades satellite image acquired on 22 September 2017 and a pre-event WorldView-2 satellite image acquired on 11 April 2017.   • El Índice Nacional de Inundación es un índice que toma en cuenta parámetros hidrológicos como la precipitación acumulada, pendiente del terreno, acumulación de escurrimiento y retención máxima de humedad del suelo. Su aplicación principal consiste en la identificación de humedales, definidos como zonas perenes o efímeramente saturadas o inundadas. Dicho índice no relaciona variables hidráulicas como lo es el tirante, velocidad del fluido o tiempo de anegación. Este mapa considera el escurrimiento de la precipitación media acumulada para un periodo de retorno de 100 años. Dicho mapa es la base para realizar modelos de tipo hidráulico que se han integrado al Atlas Nacional de Riesgos, en zonas donde además de aparecer como inundables se han registrado inundaciones históricas, por lo que se sugiere no utilizarlo como la primer fuente de información en la toma de decisiones en cuanto a la planeación del territorio o atención de las emergencias.

Este mapa se elaboró mediante la superposición de la información referente a las características de las diferentes provincias fisiográficas, la geomorfología, el estudio sobre los diferentes climas existentes en todo el país, así como la localización de las condiciones ambientales que propician la necesidad de extraer agua del subsuelo para consumo humano, agrícola e industrial, identificando las distintas formaciones geológicas involucradas, la edafología, la distribución de vertientes, ríos y cuencas hidrológicas, dando especial atención a las condiciones geológicas y a los datos de precipitación pluvial, mediante el estudio de isoyetas.
