    To strengthen and promote an evidence-based protection response, UNHCR and its partners have been implementing a protection monitoring exercise since May 2022 to regularly collect and analyze data about the profiles, needs and intentions of refugees from Ukraine and monitor changes over time. The exercise covers the following countries that have received refugees from Ukraine: Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Republic of Moldova (5,035), Poland, Romania and Slovakia. The protection monitoring involves household-level interviews conducted at border crossing points, reception and transit centres, collective sites, and assistance points in major cities using a structured questionnaire. Trained enumerators from UNHCR and partners collect data in face-to-face interviews. While respondents are randomly selected to reduce bias, the sample is considered a non-probability sample and results should be considered indicative, meaning they cannot be extrapolated to the population of refugees from Ukraine. The result reflects the refugees' situation and intentions at the time of data collection. This dataset includes 541 household interviews conducted in Hungary between May and December 2022. It is an anonymous version of the original data collected and used for the primary analysis.

    Starting in February 2022, an increasing number of refugees and third-country nationals (TCNs) entering Hungary was registered as a result of the war in Ukraine. As of November 2022, over 1.7 million arrivals have been reported by the Hungarian authorities from Ukraine. To respond to their needs, informing the planning for the 2023 Refugee Response Plan in Hungary, the Inter-Agency Coordination Team carried out this joint Multi-Sectoral Needs Assessment (MSNA) targeting the population displaced due to the war in Ukraine and currently residing in Hungary. Data collection took place in September 2022. Overall, accommodation, education, employment opportunities, and access to mental health care appeared as the overriding concerns for the population displaced to Hungary from Ukraine. In addition, four out of 10 respondents declared constraints in meeting the basic needs of their household over the past month, while two out of 10 respondents reported current constraints with food for them and their family members. This dataset is the anonymous version of the original dataset.

In particular, there are two metrics, Change in Movement and Stay Put, that provide a slightly different perspective on movement trends. Change in Movement looks at how much people are moving around and compares it with a baseline period that predates most social distancing measures, while Stay Put looks at the fraction of the population that appear to stay within a small area during an entire day.     WorldPop produces different types of gridded population count datasets, depending on the methods used and end application. Please make sure you have read our Mapping Populations overview page before choosing and downloading a dataset. Bespoke methods used to produce datasets for specific individual countries are available through the WorldPop Open Population Repository (WOPR) link below. These are 100m resolution gridded population estimates using customized methods ("bottom-up" and/or "top-down") developed for the latest data available from each country. They can also be visualised and explored through the woprVision App. The remaining datasets in the links below are produced using the "top-down" method, with either the unconstrained or constrained top-down disaggregation method used. Please make sure you read the Top-down estimation modelling overview page to decide on which datasets best meet your needs.     JHU Has Stopped Collecting Data As Of 03/10/2023 After three years of around-the-clock tracking of COVID-19 data from around the world, Johns Hopkins has discontinued the Coronavirus Resource Center’s operations. The site’s two raw data repositories will remain accessible for information collected from 1/22/20 to 3/10/23 on cases, deaths, vaccines, testing and demographics. Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) epidemiological data since 22 January 2020. The data is compiled by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering (JHU CCSE) from various sources including the World Health Organization (WHO), DXY.cn, BNO News, National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China (NHC), China CDC (CCDC), Hong Kong Department of Health, Macau Government, Taiwan CDC, US CDC, Government of Canada, Australia Government Department of Health, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Ministry of Health Singapore (MOH), and others.     WorldPop produces different types of gridded population count datasets, depending on the methods used and end application. Please make sure you have read our Mapping Populations overview page before choosing and downloading a dataset. A description of the modelling methods used for age and sex structures can be found in Tatem et al and Pezzulo et al. Details of the input population count datasets used can be found here, and age/sex structure proportion datasets here. Both top-down 'unconstrained' and 'constrained' versions of the datasets are available, and the differences between the two methods are outlined here. The datasets represent the outputs from a project focused on construction of consistent 100m resolution population count datasets for all countries of the World structured by male/female and 5-year age classes (plus a <1 year class). These efforts necessarily involved some shortcuts for consistency. The unconstrained datasets are available for each year from 2000 to 2020. The constrained datasets are only available for 2020 at present, given the time periods represented by the building footprint and built settlement datasets used in the mapping.
