What is Data Grid Completeness?
Data Grid Completeness defines a set of core data that are essential for preparedness and emergency response. For select countries, the HDX Team and trusted partners evaluate datasets available on HDX and add those meeting the definition of a core data category to the Data Grid Completeness board above. Please help us improve this feature by sending your feedback to hdx@un.org.

These data sets are intended to inform researchers and public health experts about how populations are responding to physical distancing measures. In particular, there are two metrics, Change in Movement and Stay Put, that provide a slightly different perspective on movement trends. Change in Movement looks at how much people are moving around and compares it with a baseline period that predates most social distancing measures, while Stay Put looks at the fraction of the population that appear to stay within a small area during an entire day. Full details, including the privacy protections in this data, are available here: https://research.fb.com/blog/2020/06/protecting-privacy-in-facebook-mobility-data-during-the-covid-19-response/

This dataset contains COVID-19 vaccine dose availability forecasts as well as actual deliveries for countries with Humanitarian Response Plans. The data on vaccine availability forecasts was manually extracted from the COVAX Facility Interim Distribution Forecast as announced by COVAX on 3 February 2021. Figures for actual deliveries through channels other than COVAX are compiled by OCHA from press reports. The source(s) press releases, official announcements or articles for each such vaccine delivery are included in the dataset.

The AWSD is a global compilation of reports on major security incidents involving deliberate acts of violence affecting aid workers. Incident data is collected both from public sources, through systematic media filtering using a data scraper tool developed for Humanitarian Outcomes, and from information provided directly to the project by aid organisations and operational security entities. The project also maintains agreements with a number of regional and field-level security consortiums for direct information sharing and verification of incidents. Incident reports are crosschecked and verified with the relevant agencies on an annual basis via our verification project. The latest, unverified incidents are provided on the online database with the qualification that the numbers are provisional and may change. For more: https://aidworkersecurity.org/about

This dataset is UCDP's most disaggregated dataset, covering individual events of organized violence (phenomena of lethal violence occurring at a given time and place). These events are sufficiently fine-grained to be geo-coded down to the level of individual villages, with temporal durations disaggregated to single, individual days. This dataset contains information on the dates and locations of all reported political violence events in over 50 developing countries, with a focus on Africa. The data are drawn from news reports, publications by civil society and human rights organizations, and security updates from international organizations. The ACLED dataset is made up of thousands of individual data points, each referring to an individual event (a battle, an attack, a riot, etc.). Each event contains the following information: The date – the day on which the event took place; The type of violence – what kind of violence was involved; The actors involved – violent actors identified by group name or type (for example, the LRA or Protesters); The type of group – actors identified by a numeric code, indicating whether the actors are part of state forces (military or police), rebels, militias, communal/ethnic militias, etc. The country – the state in which the event took place; The location – several columns detailing the administrative zone and town / village location at which the event took place; Latitude and longitude coordinates – the geo-reference for the individual event; The source of the report – the source in which the description of the event was found; Event notes – a brief description of the event; Fatalities – the reported number of fatalities For more information on using ACLED for Humanitarian purposes, please see this report (http://www.acleddata.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/ACLED_User-Guide-for-Humanitarians_2017.pdf). Supporting documentation, including the project Codebook (detailing the data collection and recording process), a general user guide, and working papers which explore sources and methodology in greater detail are all available online at http://www.acleddata.com/. This dataset is updated once a week in following with the information detailed here, http://www.acleddata.com/data/realtime-data. It is updated using a script that runs on AWS Lambda. The source code for that script can be found on GitHub, here(https://github.com/apfister/lambda-acled).
