What is Data Grid Completeness?
Data Grid Completeness defines a set of core data that are essential for preparedness and emergency response. For select countries, the HDX Team and trusted partners evaluate datasets available on HDX and add those meeting the definition of a core data category to the Data Grid Completeness board above. Please help us improve this feature by sending your feedback to hdx@un.org.

These data sets are intended to inform researchers and public health experts about how populations are responding to physical distancing measures. In particular, there are two metrics, Change in Movement and Stay Put, that provide a slightly different perspective on movement trends. Change in Movement looks at how much people are moving around and compares it with a baseline period that predates most social distancing measures, while Stay Put looks at the fraction of the population that appear to stay within a small area during an entire day. Full details, including the privacy protections in this data, are available here: https://research.fb.com/blog/2020/06/protecting-privacy-in-facebook-mobility-data-during-the-covid-19-response/

We use an anonymized snapshot of all active Facebook users and their friendship networks to measure the intensity of connectedness between locations. The Social Connectedness Index (SCI) is a measure of the social connectedness between different geographies. Specifically, it measures the relative probability that two individuals across two locations are friends with each other on Facebook. Details on the underlying data and the construction of the index are provided in the “Facebook Social Connectedness Index - Data Notes.pdf” file. Please also see https://dataforgood.fb.com/ as well as the associated research paper “Social Connectedness: Measurement, Determinants and Effects,” published in the Journal of Economic Perspectives (https://www.aeaweb.org/articles?id=10.1257/jep.32.3.259).

This dataset contains COVID-19 vaccine dose availability forecasts as well as actual deliveries for countries with Humanitarian Response Plans. The data on vaccine availability forecasts was manually extracted from the COVAX Facility Interim Distribution Forecast as announced by COVAX on 3 February 2021. Figures for actual deliveries through channels other than COVAX are compiled by OCHA from press reports. The source(s) press releases, official announcements or articles for each such vaccine delivery are included in the dataset.

In 2021, 235 million people will need humanitarian assistance and protection. This number has risen to 1 in 33 people worldwide - a significant increase from 1 in 45 at the launch of the Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO) 2020, which was already the highest figure in decades. The UN and partner organisations aim to assist 160 million people most in need across 56 countries and will require a total of $35 billion to do so. The GHO 2021 looks more holistically at the effects of COVID-19. Amid ongoing violent conflict, rising hunger and the effects of climate change, the pandemic will continue to have an impact in 2021. As the health and non-health effects of COVID-19 merge with other shocks, humanitarian programming is also adjusting to treat it in a more integrated manner.

From October to December 2020, UNHCR supported over 2,100 refugees (850 households) in Obo, Central African Republic from South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo with cash assistance to cover food needs. Each household was allocated 9,000 XAF per person per month. Post-distribution monitoring (PDM) of this assistance was conduected in January 2021 with the objectives of understanding the efficiency of the distribution process, accountability to the refugees and risk and problems faced. The PDM included a household survey and focus group discussions.

The AWSD is a global compilation of reports on major security incidents involving deliberate acts of violence affecting aid workers. Incident data is collected both from public sources, through systematic media filtering using a data scraper tool developed for Humanitarian Outcomes, and from information provided directly to the project by aid organisations and operational security entities. The project also maintains agreements with a number of regional and field-level security consortiums for direct information sharing and verification of incidents. Incident reports are crosschecked and verified with the relevant agencies on an annual basis via our verification project. The latest, unverified incidents are provided on the online database with the qualification that the numbers are provisional and may change. For more: https://aidworkersecurity.org/about

This dataset is UCDP's most disaggregated dataset, covering individual events of organized violence (phenomena of lethal violence occurring at a given time and place). These events are sufficiently fine-grained to be geo-coded down to the level of individual villages, with temporal durations disaggregated to single, individual days. Overview The dataset contains harmonized indicators created from high-frequency phone surveys collected by the World Bank and partners. The surveys capture the socioeconomic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on households and individuals from all developing regions. Data are available for over 90 indicators in 14 topic areas, including education, food security, income, safety nets, and others. For more information, please refer to our Technical Note and Data Dictionary. Unit of Measure Percentages. Aggregation Method: The data is aggregated by Urban/Rural/National and Industry Sector Disclaimer: This harmonized dataset is an ongoing collation and harmonization of COVID-19 high-frequency phone survey (HFPS) data. Harmonization involves redefining indicators and categories so that they are comparable across countries. As a result, even if the names and definitions of indicators appear similar, numbers in this global database might differ slightly from those of each country's publications or dashboard. If you see large discrepancies or other issues, please reach out. Version Notes: COVID-19 Harmonized Household Data Feb 18 • Temporarily suppressed select income, labor, and government assistance indicators collected after wave 2 surveys for harmonization review • Added need for, and access to medical care in multiple countries • Temporarily suppressed select income, labor and government assistance indicators collected after wave 2 surveys for harmonization review Funding Name, Abbreviation, Role: The project received support from the Trust Fund for Statistical Capacity Building III (TFSCB-III).
