Methodology

Kind of Data: Sample survey data [ssd]
Unit of Analysis: Refugee returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in the specified regions of South Sudan.
Sampling Procedure: The 2023 Results Monitoring Survey (RMS) in South Sudan employed a combination of simple random sampling and purposive selection from lists provided by local authorities (RRC) in some locations. Sampling was stratified by population type (internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugee returnees) across 9 states and 41 counties. A total of 6,266 households were sampled, with data collected through face-to-face interviews using Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). This approach ensured representative data for both IDPs and refugee returnees, providing crucial insights into the living conditions of these population groups.
