Data collection and updating operations carried out under the DTM program confirm the drop in the number of displaced people in Mali. The number of IDPs has indeed fallen from 386,454 people (CMP report of May 2021) to 377,781 in July 2021. Thus between May and July 2021, a decrease of 8,673 displaced persons was observed. However, between May and July 2021, various violence continued to be reported in the regions of Mopti, Ségou, Timbuktu and Gao. Indeed, this violence caused the flight of populations from their villages and hamlets to find refuge in localities of the said regions where the security situation seems calmer.
