This methodology was developed by the NRC Ukraine Cash Team to support spatial prioritization in humanitarian response. It combines three core dimensions: the classification of areas as urban or rural, proximity to the active frontline, and the number of recorded security incidents. These indicators are calculated at the Hromada (ADM3), Raion (ADM2), and Oblast (ADM1) levels to facilitate geographic targeting, risk analysis, and evidence-based decision-making. For example, as of the date of running this script, this dataset incorporates security incidents reported over the 12-month period based on ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project) data. Incidents are disaggregated into five time frames—1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months—to allow users to identify both recent and long-term trends in conflict activity. This dataset will be updated/published monthly on NRC’s HDX account.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). Data are collected through Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) and in-person surveys where the circumstances allow for field access. As the system is developed, the information collected and analyzed is being used to guide strategic decisions, to design programmes and to inform analytical processes such as the Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) and the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO). At the core of the system is a standardized household questionnaire administered to around 150,000 households per year across the 26 countries. Standardization permits comparisons across time and space, considerably enhancing the utility of the data for decision makers. At minimum the household data are representative at Admin 1 level (e.g. province, or region) and in frequent cases at Admin 2 level (e.g. district). Core funding for this initiative comes from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The initiative also benefits from support from the European Union and FAO’s Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation (SFERA). In each aggregated field, the values indicate the frequencies of the different responses, expressed as a weighted percentage of the total sample. The present datasets represents aggregated data referring to household interviews performed after December 2022. At every new survey data release, after cleaning and validation phases, aggregated data is appended to the present dataset. This dataset presents the General‑Assembly‑approved budgets for United Nations peacekeeping operations from fiscal year 2013‑14 through the approved 2024‑25 cycle. Totals include staff assessment and voluntary contributions and cover every active peacekeeping operation plus the United Nations Logistics Base (UNLB), the Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE), and the peacekeeping support account. For each fiscal year the table provides: Current‑year (nominal) dollars – the appropriation in dollars of the day, exactly as voted by the General Assembly. Constant 2023 US dollars – the same amount restated with 2023 as the price base to remove the effects of inflation, enabling real‑term comparisons across years. A convenience field showing the constant figure expressed in billions to facilitate quick visualisation. Methodology: Figures are extracted from the Secretary‑General’s annual notes to the General Assembly’s Fifth Committee (C.5) entitled, Approved resources for peacekeeping operations for the period from 1 July 20XX to 30 June 20XX+1.

The INFORM Severity Index is a regularly updated, and easily interpreted model for measuring the severity of humanitarian crisis globally. It is a composite index, which brings together 31 core indicators, organised in three dimensions: impact, conditions of affected people, and complexity. All the indicators are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. These scores are then aggregated into components, the three dimensions (Impact, Conditions, Complexity), and the overall severity category based on the analytical framework. The three dimensions have been weighted according to their contribution to severity: impact of the crisis (20%); conditions of affected people (50%); complexity (30%). The weightings are currently a best estimate and will be refined using expert analysis and statistical methods. Each crisis will fall into 1 of 5 categories based on their score ranging from very low to high. ACAPS – an INFORM technical partner – is responsible for collection, cleaning, analysis and input of data into the model and the production of the final results.
