In response to the Somalia’s severe drought beginning in November 2021, DTM Somalia launched an Emergency Trends Tracking (ETT) tool first in Gedo and Bay regions in 2022, and subsequently in Hiraan, Banadir and Middle Shabelle regions in 2023 to monitor drought related displacement trends and hotspots in support of operational planning. However, during the first half of 2023, conflict and flooding displacements have been significant. Therefore, DTM restructured its ETT tool to capture multi-shock displacements (drought, flood, conflict and other) from October 2023. In April 2024, ETT was conducted to monitor displacements movements during the Gu rainy season. This latest round of ETT was initiated in February 2025 to monitor displacement movements during the Jilaal dry season. ETT is a crisis-based tool that tracks sudden displacement triggered by specific events or emerging crises. The objective of ETT is to help prioritize humanitarian response and to enable partners to deliver rapid assistance.

The DIEM Events Visualization in Emergencies (EVE) system provides resources to enhance the understanding of flood events and their impact on different land cover types, with a particular focus on agricultural areas. EVE provides a flood persistence analysis as well as an estimation of the population exposed to such events. EVE utilizes satellite-derived data from the NOAA Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) at a 375-meter resolution, alongside land cover data from the European Space Agency’s WorldCover 10m 2021 dataset. Covering approximately 40 countries, the system offers daily and biweekly insights, providing a continuously updated view of flood dynamics and their effects. Access the FAO EVE user guide to learn more. The platform presents results through interactive maps, charts, and tables, supporting decision-making in disaster management, agricultural planning, and environmental monitoring. Most resources are publicly accessible, though downloading aggregated data at the admin2 level requires a DIEM account. EVE products are preliminary analyses and have not yet undergone field validation. Users are encouraged to provide ground feedback to the FAO Data in Emergencies (DIEM) team to enhance the accuracy and utility of the data.

This dataset is part of AQLITY’s Security, Logistics, Access and Cash Feasibility (SLAC) Monitoring tool. It captures granular, settlement-level data collected through direct observation and key informant interviews across eastern Ukraine. The dataset includes information on population presence and vulnerability, access constraints, availability of basic services, market functionality, infrastructure damage, and cash feasibility. Each record reflects a specific assessment round in a given settlement and contributes to tracking humanitarian access and service availability in hard-to-reach and high-risk areas. The dataset is intended to provide operational data for humanitarian organisations and prompt further assessment and/or principled response.

The INFORM Severity Index is a regularly updated, and easily interpreted model for measuring the severity of humanitarian crisis globally. It is a composite index, which brings together 31 core indicators, organised in three dimensions: impact, conditions of affected people, and complexity. All the indicators are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. These scores are then aggregated into components, the three dimensions (Impact, Conditions, Complexity), and the overall severity category based on the analytical framework. The three dimensions have been weighted according to their contribution to severity: impact of the crisis (20%); conditions of affected people (50%); complexity (30%). The weightings are currently a best estimate and will be refined using expert analysis and statistical methods. Each crisis will fall into 1 of 5 categories based on their score ranging from very low to high. ACAPS – an INFORM technical partner – is responsible for collection, cleaning, analysis and input of data into the model and the production of the final results. Since November 2021, attacks by the former rebel group M 23 have resumed and increased against the congolese armed forces (FARDC) in the east of the DRC. These clashes have further intensified since March 2022, due to which the M23 seized in June 2022 the town of Bunagana located on the border with Uganda, as well as other neighboring localities in the regions of Jomba, Bweza, Kisigari and Busanza in Rutshuru territory. At the end of October 2022, the M23 extended their hold after several offensives, expanding their control over the entire Bwisha chiefdom including the territorial capital and the town of Kiwanja, with alleged plans to extend over the entire territory

The dataset contains IDPs individuals and households at admin2 level. IOM has been developing a Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) since May 2015 aimed at effectively monitoring and evaluating the flows of Burundian IDPs and providing accurate information on the current IDP situation. The DTM in Burundi has been successfully used in 2014, upon the request of the humanitarian community and the GoB when some areas of Bujumbura were flooded, which caused displacement. This tool allowed registering IDPs in four IDP sites and in host families in four locations and identifying their humanitarian needs. The dataset includes returnees from abroad who are still displaced in the country. They are categorized as IDPs due to their continued displacement within the country.
