Methodology

Kind of Data: Sample survey data [ssd]
Unit of Analysis: All refugee households residing in Gozamir and Belom refugee camps, Chad.

UNHCR PPG: 1TCDA, 1TCDB
Sampling Procedure: The survey's objective was to deliver representative data of all refugees living in Chad's Gozamir and Belom refugee camps. The total population of refugees in these camps at the time of the survey was estimated at slightly below 13,000 households.

The survey applied a full-coverage (census) approach, i.e. no sample selection was made. The registration database served as the list frame. The total number of completed interviews was 12,643 households (7,393 in Gozamir and 5,250 in Belom).

While the original data collection took a full-coverage approach, the public-release version of the dataset contains a systematically drawn sub-sample of this original data for reasons of statistical disclosure control. The total sample size in the dataset presented for public release is 2,528 households (1,478 in Gozamir and 1,050 in Belom).
