Methodology

For this project, a variety of human and physical geography datasets were used as inputs into a random forest model to generate a gridded population weighting layer. Subnational census data were disaggregated using the weighting layer and dasymetric mapping to create a gridded population dataset for the census year (2011) and 2021.
